[Carnage] Kidnapped for Kid Rescue Views: 285

It was late Tuesday evening and the patrons of the Drunken Kodo in Ratchet were beginning to clear out. As the rabble departed those who remained loosened up and relaxed to the sound of the sea and the crackling campfire lovingly kindled by Sara the Orcish barmaid before she retired for the night. Carnage sighed heavily as he brushed a fern off the top of his head and rose from behind the bush he'd ducked into with Saras lion companion Rags during the busy hours. He sipped one of the three non-alcoholic Iced Berry Slushes he'd ordered through a straw and stalked his way past the Orc Bloodaxe and the Tauren Gaurth to sit just inside the building and think quietly to himself.

The night had gone well for the Doctors first social outing in over a month, with the exception of one person making the mistake of disrespectfully referring to him as "another elf" before getting a good look at his rotted flesh and the insignia of the Undercity on the sleeve of his coat. He'd managed to remain mostly calm after taking a mental note to send the woman a package of assorted candy in the future. It wasn't unlike him to get caught up in work but it certainly didn't help his awkwardness to go so long without speaking a word to another sentient being. Ghouls and shades made fantastic lab assistants and watchers but miserable conversationalists; only a step above his bloodstained ceiling who never even bothered trying to maintain eye contact.

A Sin'Dorei woman as lovely and monotonous as the rest had taken interest in the shade he'd brought along to watch his back while drifting in the sea of noisy marbles that had filled his head around the time his beloved Dark Ladys guild, Curse, began to go down hill. He was certain, because of all the racket they made, that he was yet to loose his marbles but his mind was undoubtedly a chaotic place without something stable and real to focus on. The chaos prevented him from noticing the way the Elf studied his form; unusually tall and somehow steroidal and emaciated at the same time.

He was kicked back in a wooden chair with his black, knee-high leather boots on the table in front of him with a slushy in one set of five ghoulish talons. His other hand dangled at his side, clad in fingerless gloves that buckled up to his elbows in a fashion similar to his footwear. His face was distant with a single ice blue eye circled by black rings of eternal unrest staring through the wall with his pale lips pressed into a thin line of worry. His outstandingly red hair that only clashed with his gray skin flowed wildly down his back, matted and bloodied to the point of near dreadlocks. A lab coat concealed the rest of his body, royal purple and toxic green as a tribute to the memory of Curses official colors.

"Anyone with a sense of self preservation would have the sense to recognize what you are."

The Sin'Dorei woman had spoken up in a calm and focused tone. Carnages single, tattered ear twitched causing the smiley-face and heart-shaped charms danging from a thin chain that spanned from a piercing near the base to one at the top to jingle softly. He leaned back in his chair to meet her gaze upside-down, lips parted for a soft grunt of curiosity. She smiled softly at the monsters odd display that was really no stranger than the behavior he'd displayed all night. Before long the two had become some semblance of friends, casually discussing the arts of demon summoning and necromancy.

An hour or so passed before it was time for the Doctor and his new Warlock friend to return home. They stepped outside to the sight of Bloodaxe and Gaurth before a rather stern looking Tauren female. By the sound of it the Tauren womans child had gone missing after an adventure in the Netherstorm with Mister Axe, who was quick to panic at the news of Little Washue failing to return home. Carnage stood just off to the side to watch and took a long, obnoxiously loud slurp of what remained of his beloved slush before offering the rest to the warlock who was quick to repeat the action. He was obviously a bad influence.

"Was Squirrel with her?! Did Squirrel come home?! Did she pack an extra pair of socks?! Come on woman, I need the details!" Bloodaxe exclaimed as he shook Little Washues mama by the shoulders. The woman was unimpressed at the man-handling, giving little more than a snort and a glower of discontent.

"Knowing Little Washue she's probably just off in the Netherstorm feeding berries to a Devilsaur and calling it Fluffy." Gaurth stated with an air of confidence, his tail waving side to side as he watched his Orcish friend slowly relax as his hands were removed from the stern mothers shoulders.

"Oh, Little Washue. She has the most delightful pets..." Carnage chimed in absent mindedly without fully comprehending what was going on. His hollow voice trailed off as he lost focus on the world around him in favor of getting lost in a sea of mind-marbles yet again. Before he knew what was happening the fully armoured Orc had taken -him- by the shoulders and pulled him down a foot or so to average Orc-height for a one-on-one conversation.

"You know what she looks like! You're helping!" Bloodaxe demanded, looking the tall, formerly Elven zombie square in the dizzy, mismatched eyes. The Doctor blinked slowly as his brain, which was the consistency of oatmeal, registered what just happened. He squirmed a little at first but quickly nodded and yelped out his response.

"Oh yes, yes of course I am! I couldn't possibly not lend my aid in a situation like this! A child in need deserves help indeed, or some such!" A cold sweat of spawned from the kind of social terror rarely seen outside of High Scools formed on his rot-speckled brow. Though he wasn't physically intimidated by much of anything he couldn't bear to loose what respect he had for the Zephyr Crew. Agreeing to help was a chance to earn someones trust and a way to avoid getting punched in the face in one! He couldn't pass up such an opportunity, especially with only three fourths of his skull in tact to begin with and few suitable blood sacrifices available in the area should his head wind up in need of major repairs.

"Well, it looks like you've been recruited! Maybe I'll catch up to you another time, Doc." The Elven Warlock called out playfully as she began walking down the dusty path away from the Kodo and towards the Flightmaster who could send her off and on her way.

"I fully expect Bloodaxe to take after Saurfang and punch a hole in reality then charge through it to the Netherstorm to rescue Little Washue any time now." Gaurth stated as calm and collected as ever.

About that time Carnage had decided that he was sick of being treated like an over-sized ragdoll and opened a portal to the realm of the dead for a quick escape to the Ebon Hold. From there he planned to make his way to the Dark Portal then to the Netherstorm where he'd begin his search for the missing child. Fist first, Bloodaxe charged forward with the science-minded Death Knight still in his grasp and dissapeared from the Drunken Kodo into nothingness.

"...he really did punch a hole in reality." Gaurth uttered in disbelief.

Wait. I missed BA punching a hole through reality? D:

EDIT: Also, wait, what? Curse's gone? And has Our Little Loki joined the ZC? What the hell have I been missing? O_o

Curse is indeed, apparently gone. I'm pretty sure Meri and Plagos formed a new guild called "Hand of the Blightcaller".

Loki's not in the ZC, but was most certainly invited to share the story here.

Meri and Plagos decided it was time to expand Curse beyond undead and started up , so the living can share the fun.
